Nathan Southwick is a vibrant and active violinist and educator. As a soloist, Nathan performed with the New American Philharmonic, the Mozart Project in Boulder, Colorado and the Vivaldi Project in Lubbock, Texas. He currently performs with the Greensboro, Fayetteville, and Western Piedmont Symphonies.

Nathan holds his Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, where he was named a Minerva Scholar. During his graduate studies, he was a member of the Graduate String Quartet at Texas Tech University, totaling over 70 outreach concerts during his tenure with the ensemble.

In addition to performing, Nathan is an active educator, having taught in the College of Continuing Education at the University of Colorado, as well as currently teaching violin, viola, and string methods at Campbell University.

Nathan performed with the Elysian Quartet, and was the first violinist of the Permian Basin String Quartet’s 2018- 2019 season. As a symphonic violinist, Nathan held leadership roles in the Utah Festival Opera Orchestra and the Lubbock and Midland Symphonies.
