Flutist Lauren Scanio Kelly’s concerts have explored an adventurously eclectic range of repertoire from the baroque to the contemporary. In addition to her performances as a substitute with the New York Philharmonic and the New York City Ballet, she has played with the Festival Napa Valley, Syracuse Symphoria, APEX Ensemble, the New World Symphony, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, and the National Repertory Orchestra in Breckenridge, CO. Her orchestral playing can be heard on John Williams’ and Yo-Yo Ma’s 2022 album, A Gathering of Friends, as well as the broadcast of Live from Lincoln Center: Celebrating Sondheim on PBS.

Lauren completed her Master of Music degree at The Juilliard School as a student of Robert Langevin and received her Bachelor's degree from the Manhattan School of Music where she studied with Michael Parloff.

As a freelance chamber musician, she has collaborated with the New York Philharmonic Woodwind Quintet for their Very Young People’s concert series in the 2022 season. She has also recorded as a member of a flute/viola/harp trio in the project Opus 961, which is set to release in September, 2023. The album features works written by contemporary Lebanese composers. As a founding member of the “Third Rail Duo” with guitarist Joseph Douglass, she presented monthly recitals on the Sunday Afternoon Classical series at the Morgan Library and Museum for three seasons.
